Scanning - Negatives
We can scan any type of negatives with a resolution of up to 4000 DPI (dots per inch)
Standard is 2000dpi.
The negatives are cleaned with a fine brush and compressed air before scanning to remove any loose dirt.
The finished scans are inspected individually for any remaining visible dirt and this is digitally removed.
35mm color negatives are processed using and process called Digital Ice to remove slight scratches.
Digital Ice cannot be applied to Black & White or color negatives other than 35mm. Small scratches on these types of negatives are removed manually.
The manual removal process requires more time and that is why these types of negatives are priced slightly higher than 35mm.
The completed files are burned on to an archival quality DVD in JPG format unless another format is specifically requested.
We can save in most image formats upon request.
